ReKTGlobal reportedly in talks to go public via SPAC merger

Esports infrastructure company ReKTGlobal plans to go public by merging with Bull Horn Holdings Corp., Bloomberg report says.

Bull Horn Holdings Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) led by former NBA basketball star Baron Davis, would take over the company in a merger that would value the new entity at more than $400m (~£291m), according to the report. said.

ReKTGlobal did not immediately respond to an Esports Insider request for comment.

Citing people with knowledge of the matter, the Bloomberg report says the esports company is “in talks” with Bull Horn Holdings.

He reports that Bull Horn Holdings is considering increasing investment through a Private investment in public capital (PIPE) to support the transaction. The report pointed out that nothing has been agreed yet and the talks could break down.

ReKTGlobal is an esports-focused entertainment organization launched in 2017. It is the parent company of esports organization Rogue and the Call of Duty London Royal Ravens franchise. The company acquired TalentX Entertainment in 2021 to form digital talent management company ReKTX.

Bull Horn Holdings Corp. is a sports and entertainment-focused SPAC, according to its website. SPACs are a type of publicly traded blank check company created for the purpose of merging with or acquiring another company. The company intends to partner with a leading sports, entertainment and branding company, according to a press release.

The NASDAQ-listed company raised $75m (~£55m) in an October 2020 IPO. It has Baron Davis on its board, alongside Stephen Master, Michael Gandler , Jeff Wattenberg and Doug Schaer.
