TOP of Leisure and Hospitality, the new business entities of Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) presented plans to exploit the potential of the regional market by building on the existing strong business networks.
The new business entities, the digital platform Gateway Stream, and its tour operator arm, Heritage Expeditions Africa (HExA), are expected to boost domestic tourism and increase its market share.
RTG CEO Tendai Madziwanyika in a recent update described the two units as very strategic for future growth.
“The strategic synergy between RTG’s two subsidiaries, Gateway Stream and HExA, helps to optimize the tourism value chain while creating unparalleled convenience for the customer. This is a plus for the dynamism of domestic tourism.
“Currently, HExA and Gateway Stream are expanding the tourism experience in the region as Gateway Stream now has access to over 60,000 rooms in Africa spanning 28 countries,” he said.
Launched in 2018, the entities have grown exponentially to make a significant contribution to revenue. RTG, through HExA, has successfully expanded its offering of leisure and tourism experiences in local destinations across the country – Hwange, Kariba, Great Zimbabwe, Eastern Highlands, Sabi Valley and Manapools.
HExA provides a one-stop-shop that offers a wide variety of services and activities to destinations across the country.
These include package holidays, city and countryside tours, transfers, hotel accommodations and a wide selection of activities which include but are not limited to quad biking, ziplining, safaris, rafting and paintball shooting.
HEXA’s access to rooms is made possible by the availability of 5,000 rooms across the country on the Gateway Stream platform, which is therefore the gateway through which travelers can access a world of experiences.
HExA has an extensive network of partnerships that spans across the country as well as the African continent. The partner hotels and lodges are not only located in the main tourist destinations of the country, but also in the less traveled remote destinations such as Zvishavane, Malilangwe and Binga, to name a few.
Packages to local destinations are created in collaboration with Gateway Stream.
