New Business: Bigfoot Auction Co. in Marion Sells All Kinds of Items Online | Local news

If you have something to sell or if you enjoy online auctions then Bigfoot Auction Co. in Marion is ready to help you get a good deal.

Bigfoot Auction Co. is a family business specializing in online auctions. The company, started in September, accepts new and vintage items on consignment as well as estates. Bobbie Laws, her husband Eddie Laws, their son Michael Rose and their grandson Philip Rose are family members working at the company.

Bigfoot Auction is based in a section of the former Coca-Cola bottling plant at 355 E. Court Street in Marion. However, people do not go there for auctions since they are held online. To bid on an item with Bigfoot Auction, you must visit www.bigfootauction.hibid.com.

The auctions begin on Friday and will run for eight days. They will end on Sunday evening more than a week after the start of the auction. The process is similar to eBay.

“Sunday evenings at 7 am are really exciting,” said Michael Rose.

Although the offers are being made online, Bobbie Laws and his son Michael said they encourage people to come to their location at 355 E. Court St. to check out the items for sale in person.

“We want people to see what they’re bidding on,” Bobbie Laws told The McDowell News. “We are trying to let everyone know what the condition is.”
