Khadi India’s new products to provide employment opportunities: Narayan Rane

Khadi India’s new products will provide job opportunities for farmers and the younger generation, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane said on Friday.

He brought out Khadi India’s new product, an antibacterial cloth made from cow dung, to the Kumarappa National Handmade Paper Institute here.

Speaking on the occasion, Rane said this product will benefit consumers and also help create new job opportunities.

The antibacterial cloth will be of great use in this time of pandemic and many types of products may be made from it in the near future, he noted.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman Vinay Kumar Saxena said that by working on the theme of “voice for the local”, the institute invented a natural painting for the first time in the country. Ecological khadi from cow dung.

In the production of this natural Khadi paint, 25 to 30 percent cow dung is used, he added.
