Former Bolton Wanderers apprentice starts new business

A BOLTON man who played for The vagabonds reservations when Sam Allardyce was director started a new business that aims to transform the world of fitness education.

Daniel Stott started Class-ify – which aims to free personal trainers from gyms and allow them to work for themselves.

It gives them the option to build their own website and even have their own app that customers can download.

Mr. Stott, originally from Great Lever, plays for the Whites but went to study on a scholarship in New York.

From 2010 he worked at JustEat as it was growing.

The company was so little known about some of his family that he thought he was working as a take out driver.

But during his time there, the company rose to fame and expanded all over the world.

Mr. Stott has worked in Canada and Australia during his six years with the company, helping to build brand awareness.

And now Mr. Stott, 34, wants to use that expertise to develop Class-ify.

The digital platform will provide personal trainers with the support, training and technology needed to run a coaching business.

It will feature workout plans, payments, schedules, websites, and marketing tools.

Mr Stott said: “If you want to compare us to the restaurant industry, it’s like we are helping chefs take their own business away from the restaurant.

“We’re helping personal trainers get away from the gyms.

“Personal trainers have the same challenges no matter where they are, they want to make more money and they want to lie, they’re all self-employed. ”

Mr Stott, now based in London, also outlined his goals for 2022.

He said: “We hope to have 500 personal trainers registered and break into the United States.”

The company, which launched last November, has secured around £ 1million in funding, much of which comes from people who have worked at JustEat.

Other members of the management team come from Asda, Barclays and Adecco and there is a combination of 50 years of experience working to make the project a success.

The platform also aims to give consumers access to a trainer who can put together a tailor-made plan to help them achieve their goals, whether in the gym, at home, or while traveling.
