Fenchurch launches new business for non-UK client disputes

UK law firm Fenchurch is launching a new international risk reinsurance practice, which will also take instructions from captives, the firm has announced. The firm works exclusively for policyholders and brokers on insurance coverage disputes.

The new group will represent non-UK policyholders in complex, high-value disputes relating to policies placed either directly in the London market or locally and reinsured in the London market. He will also represent captives and non-UK insurers who have cover disputes with London market insurers.

“The London market has a long and well-established reputation for settling claims. However, it is a fact of business that disagreements sometimes arise between policyholders and insurers, particularly when losses are significant,” said Fenchurch managing partner David Pryce.

“We have launched this new dedicated practice group to reflect the increasingly international nature of our work, which is itself a reflection of how the London market continues to be a global leader in risk writing. complex and tailor-made. In doing so, we are pursuing our goal of leveling the playing field between policyholders and their insurers, not just in the UK, but around the world.
